The Sci-Tech Center, Northern New York’s hands-on science museum, seeks an Assistant Director to help maintain and improve the Watertown organization.
The new position is volunteer-based, the same as the Sci-Tech Executive Director post. Stephen A. Karon has been the Sci-Tech Executive Director since 2008.
The Assistant Director would work as needed for the nonprofit. The volunteer position has flexible days and hours. For example, the Assistant Director could host or co-host at community outreach programs and events that Sci-Tech brings to local festivals and to school programs. The Assistant Director could also research and develop new exhibit ideas at the Sci-Tech Museum/building, 154 Stone St., and assist in the guest operation of the facility. The Assistant Director would also lead and motivate other Sci-Tech volunteers.
The Assistant Director is expected to have a degree in a hard science field, with either formal or informal teaching experience a plus. For further information, contact Steve Karon at Sci-Tech: 315-788-1340 or stevekaron@scitechcenter.org.
